Lessons and Performance Opportunities
There is no age or level limit; beginner, advanced or professional students are welcome to take lessons with NYPF 2017 faculty and to participate in the Students’ Concerts on July 1st. Application fee of $150 includes two tickets to all NYPF 2017 concerts and each student will receive certificates of participation, gifts from NYPF 2017, and HD-DVD recording of their performance.
Each applicant must submit a video recording via an email link.
Application deadline: Monday, June 12, 2017.
The application fee of $150 is non-refundable.
One hour’s lesson fee is $80.
A late fee $50 will apply to applications received after the deadline.
Rules and regulations
- NYPF will be accepting applications until June 12th, 2017. The application fee of $150 is non-refundable and includes two tickets to all NYPF concerts at the DiMenna Center for Classical Music (450 West 37th Street, New York, NY 10018) including the awards ceremony and gala concert at the Carnegie Hall. In addition, each student will receive a certificate of participation, and a professionally recorded HD-DVD that can be used to upload to social media, YouTube, or Vimeo.
- Participants will have the opportunity to perform in our student concert on July 1st. In order to participate in our concert on July 1st, each applicant will be required to send a DVD of his/her recording or take three lessons with New York Piano Festival’s faculty members. The lesson fee is $80 per hour.
- Our lessons will focus on basic approaches of technique and interpretive issues. Our goal is to supply and enhance the basic tools for piano performance, bringing the student’s talent, personality, and prior training to a harmonious blend of artistry. Lessons take place either at the teacher’s studio or the student’s home. The lesson fee is $80 per hour. There are no additional tuition or fees for the New York Piano Festival.
